Abstract: In most Nigerian schools, teachers pay lip service to creative teaching as formal testing remains the predominant way of assessing students. The lack of understanding of creativity could significantly limit the fostering of creative learning. This study was carried out to examine creative teaching and teachers’ attitude as determinants of secondary school students’ creativity in Lagos Nigeria. The research study adopted a pre-test post-test 3-factor quasi-experimental research design. The population consists of all the senior secondary two (SS2) students in Lagos public schools in Surulere Local government area, Lagos District four while judgmental sampling technique was used to select one hundred and forty-seven (147) respondents selected from four (4) co-educational schools in Surulere Local government. Students Creativity Scale (SCS), Teachers Guide to Teaching Creatively (TGTC) and Teachers Attitude development Guide (TADG) were the three instruments designed for the purpose of the study. All the Hypotheses were tested using T-test statistical techniques, with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The finding of the study revealed that that creative teaching and teachers’ attitudes have a significant effect on students’ development of creativity. Base on the finding, recommendations were made among others that the government, policymakers, as well as a curriculum developer and the ministry of education, should work together in ensuring that institutional and environmental supports that the teachers need to engage in creative teaching should be provided. Among these are financial, technical, technological and pragmatic supports to teachers.
