Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore and analyze the intentions of university dropout among Moroccan students and analyze how we can reduce this phenomenon so students can stay longer at university. The data come from a survey of 732 students enrolled in the first years at the faculty of law, economics and social sciences, Cadi Ayyad University. The data show that intentions to leave the university are very high. The results suggest also that intrinsic factors to students, family, economic and institutional contexts increase the probability of dropping out of university. The results will be of great interest as well for the student himself, for the heads of the institutions, and finally for the decision-makers. The implementation of supports and targeted strategies could reduce the scale of this phenomenon.
