Abstract: This research investigates the international students’ transition phase to higher education (HE). Given the criticality of this learning curve, this approach is multifaceted. The project considers several metrics: the internationalization of higher education, international students’ mobility and enrolment, and current transition focused programs. A thorough investigation is carried out to look at different patterns of international mobility and students’ transition experience; aiming to substantially improve the quality of their new learning experience at UK universities. A scope literature review is implemented to evaluate the educational transition to higher education from a multidisciplinary point of view. The paradigm of our research study follows a mixed-method triangulation; a more profound form of data collection. Two sequential studies are designed for complementary purposes; 1) a Multi-dimensional Transition Survey, and 2) Focus group interviews to the target sample. Both cross-purposes studies offer a chance of informing our investigation with a more context-related and sample-related data. The whole project aims to lay a solid ground of data and inform possible, applicable interventions and transition-support programs for international students in the UK.
